You’d think playing baseball down south would be great this time of year, because, look outside, you can’t play it here.

But the UAlbany Great Danes’ baseball season won’t start this weekend in Cary, N.C. due to inclement weather. They were originally scheduled to open the 2014 season at the USA Baseball Complex against Canisius on Friday, and face Saint Joseph’s, Butler, and Monmouth on Saturday and Sunday. However, snow has forced the trip to be cancelled.

Instead, UAlbany will now kickoff the season in Honolulu, Hawaii next Thursday, playing a four-game series against the Rainbow Warriors Feb. 20-23.
