A piece of the Capital Region's history will soon vanish into memory.
The owners of Hoffman's Playland in Loudonville tell the Business Review they'll close the amusement park for good in September, and sell off the 18 rides at auction.
The action will pave the way for development on the property, which has been eyed by businesses for years.
It was last year that the Hoffman's first announced their intentions to retire and close the family-owned attraction, which dates back to the 50's.
Thousands of kids have been entertained at the amusement park over several generations.
