Many of us got our first experience with a weather warning sounding on our cell phones Thursday, alerting us of the possibility of a tornado.

LISTEN: 810 & 103.1 WGY Tech Expert Don Reisinger says the government requires cell phone carriers to push out emergency notifications and you don’t need to personally sign up for the service.

Reisinger says as the long as the service is working properly, you would get emergency notifications wherever you travel, and out-of-towners should have gotten the same tornado warning as the rest of us yesterday.
