Judge Denies NFL's Request For Stay In Elliott Case

A judge is denying the NFL's emergency stay of the injunction he issued earlier this month in the Ezekiel Elliott case.  U.S. District Court Judge Amos Mazzant III has blocked the league's request as he continues to review the petition filed by the NFL Players Association to have Elliott's 6 game suspension dismissed.  That could take months and allow the Cowboys running back to continue playing.  Elliott was suspended for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy following a 13 month investigation into allegations of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend.

An arbitrator upheld the suspension after a 3 day appeal hearing, but the Players' Association filed a petition to try and block any suspension levied against the 22-year-old.  The Ohio State product led the league in rushing last season as a rookie.
