The interview was canceled by Fox after it was revealed that Judith Regan paid Simpson $3.5 million for the sit-down, which was to be the basis for the controversial book If I Did ItAfter public outcry over the news that Regan paid Simpson, HarperCollins fired her, but the publisher went on to publish the book with the family of Ron Goldman.

Fox was given permission by both the Goldman families and Simpson after the tape was "rediscovered sitting in a box on the Fox lot."

TMZ reports that O.J. speaks about an accomplice named "Charlie" who went with him to his ex-wife's house. O.J. claims he got into a brief argument with her and then blacked out, only to awake covered in blood.
