ACPHS on Pharmacists Filling Medical Needs and Training for Biotech Jobs

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences student provides care at The Collaboratory

Our medical response to a pandemic has been at the forefront of our minds for a year and a half. The vaccine is part of the story. Expanded treatment options have been another part of the story. In this episode of Upstate Issues, Dr. Greg Dewey President of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, talks about the scientific foundation that made the COVID-19 vaccines and treatments possible. Dr. Dewey explains how biopharmaceuticals are becoming a dominant force in the industry and how the U.S. needs to prepare a trained workforce for future biopharmaceutical jobs. The newly opened Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET) is ready to provide that education and training. Dr. Dewey also talks about alleviating the strains on medical services through an increased utilization of community pharmacists.
