Why Georgia at #1?- It was so close between these 4 teams... Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas. The Bulldogs get the slight edge because of the word of the 2024 season... "DEPTH". An expanded playoff means more teams will have to go to their 2-3 team. I see any of those 4 teams winning it all but the Bulldogs are the team to meet top to bottom.
Florida State outside the top 10?! After an undefeated season and a beat down by Georgia in bowl season, the Seminoles in most polls are getting far more love than my ranking. For me, the Seminoles lost so much including Jordan Travis and Jared Verse to the NFL plus a veteran offensive line. The Seminoles are poised to be one of the biggest disappointments in 2024 and will not finish the season as a Top 25 team.
Too much love for Oklahoma State and Boise- First for the Cowboys... Coach Mike Gundy's team should be considered the team to beat this season in the Big 12. A wide conference has convinced many to lead towards the new addition Utah. HOWEVER with a 7th year quarterback and Ollie Gordon in the backfield, the Cowboys are going to be in the playoff. As for Boise State, the program brought in former #1 High School quarterback in the country Malachi Nelson, who lost his job in camp, and a top 2 RB prospect in next year's NFL draft. The talent is stacked for the team with the blue turf. Boise as the 12 seed in the first 12 team playoff. A lot of college football fans would love an all-time Cinderella returning to the ball.
