Albany, New York, is gearing up for one of the biggest Saint Patrick's Day celebrations in the Capital Region, set to take place on Saturday (March 15). The annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade will begin at 2 p.m., starting at the corner of Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue, and will conclude on State Street opposite James Street. This year's grand marshals are members of the Menands Saint Patrick's Club.

To ensure safety and smooth proceedings, the city has announced several road closures and parking restrictions. According to CBS6 Albany, the parade route will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. until the parade concludes. Key roads affected include Central Avenue, Washington Avenue, and State Street, with all cross streets along the route also closed. Parking restrictions will be in place from Thursday (March 13) at 6 a.m. until Saturday (March 15) at 6 p.m.

The day's events will commence with a traditional Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 9 a.m., followed by the North Albany Limerick Parade at noon, which starts at the corner of North Pearl Street and North First Street. News10 reports that parking restrictions and road closures will be enforced throughout the day to accommodate both parades.

For more detailed information on the parade routes, parking restrictions, and road closures, attendees can visit the Parade Committee website.
