Covino & Rich have been filling in this week for Dan Patrick from the MLB All-Star Village in Atlanta and they were there for everything from the HR Derby on Monday, checking out the dugouts and locker rooms, and interviewing Zac Brown who sang the National Anthem, but they missed the epic swing-off that decided the most entertaining ASG in years. Plenty of excuses are made but they are falling on deaf ears as the crew isn’t letting them off the hook for leaving the stadium early.
Rich Davis: “I’m angry because I leave and I just missed Pete Alonso’s homerun. But I justified it. I’m like, ‘Yeah well, you know, I’ve seen a lot of Pete Alonso homeruns.’ But then it was 6-0 and I was like, alright 6-0, wasn’t a close game…”
Steve Covino: “Eh, we made a good decision.”
Rich: “We made a good choice.”
Steve: “And then they came back.”
